In the heart of Warsaw, at Elektrownia Powiśle, history meets Christmas magic, creating unforgettable impressions for residents and tourists. Spectacular illuminations of the shopping mall
At the center of the decoration stands a majestic, over 13-meter Christmas tree, surrounded by a festive armchair and a shining present. This is where the most beautiful Christmas photos are taken, and unique Instagram installations and an unexpected elf by the window invite everyone to discover the secrets of Elektrownia Powiśle. This magical scene not only attracts crowds but also becomes the central point of Christmas memories.
The interior of Elektrownia Powiśle pulses with life thanks to hundreds of baubles, garlands, and dominant red and gold colors. Every corner hides something unique, and Multidekor, remembering the rich history of this place, created decorations that are a bridge connecting the past with the present. It’s a place where the Christmas spirit intertwines with history, creating a unique atmosphere.
Designing Christmas decorations in Elektrownia Powiśle required not only aesthetic sensitivity but also precise technical planning. It was crucial to fit into the character and architecture of the building, especially since the client, growing up in America, had a clear vision of Christmas decorations. They wanted everyone, regardless of origin, to feel good in the decorated place.
Since the building is under conservation protection, we had to work with the client to ensure compliance with the conservator’s requirements both visually and technically. The project had to include combining low and high zones, telling the story of Christmas that settled in Elektrownia Powiśle.
The colors of the decorations perfectly fit the omnipresent brick, reflecting the architectural characteristics of the revitalized building. Planning the tree’s installation was a unique challenge due to its mass and the underground parking below. Multidekor’s technical team had to precisely calculate and plan the appropriate distribution of ballast, comparable to a railway carriage.
Christmas magic all year round
The project also anticipated flexibility – the Christmas present has the option to transform into a Valentine’s decoration, allowing for longer use of the decoration. The illumination features thousands of bulbs that adorn the building year-round, enjoying popularity not only in winter. Many Warsaw residents associate this place with pre-war times when their grandparents worked here.
